Ambit Energy Expanding Service in Ohio
(DALLAS) – Ambit Energy, the world’s largest direct seller of energy and a leading national retail energy provider, today announced enrollment is now open for residential and small commercial gas customers in the Columbia Gas of Ohio service area. Expansion in Ohio includes an estimated 1.4 million potential new customers for Ambit, who previously entered the state servicing the AEP Ohio area in the fall of 2015.
“We’ve had a tremendous response from Customers in Ohio who have been able to save money versus their incumbent provider, and we are thrilled to extend that reach throughout the state,” said Jere Thompson, Jr., Co-Founder and CEO of Ambit Energy. “As we continue to grow, we are able to create additional opportunities for our current and future Independent Consultants, who continue to succeed because of the value we are able to bring residents.”
Ambit is also expected to begin providing gas and electric services for Ohio residents in the Duke Energy area in late April.
Founded in 2006 by Thompson and Chris Chambless, Ambit provides electricity and natural gas services in deregulated markets in 16 states and Washington D.C., primarily using a direct sales channel of more than 350,000 Independent Consultants. The company has more than 1.3 million customers nationwide and recorded revenue of $1.5 billion in 2014, earning placement on the Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing companies for the sixth consecutive year.
Ambit, headquartered in Dallas, announced its Ohio expansion at the company’s annual Simulcast conference in January. This event hosted thousands of entrepreneurs from across the country in Dallas and Utica, New York while also live streaming informative training, news and presentations from guest speakers.
