Ambit Energy Expands Residential and Small Commercial Service in Ohio
(DALLAS) – Ambit Energy, the world’s largest direct seller of energy and a leading national retail energy provider, announced enrollment is now open for the estimated one million potential residential and small commercial gas and electric customers in the Duke Energy service area. Ambit also entered the Columbia Gas of Ohio service area in March.
“We expanded our service area in Ohio last month and we’re excited to extend our reach even farther throughout the state to meet customer demand,” said Jere Thompson, Jr., Co-Founder and CEO of Ambit Energy. “Our rapid growth in Ohio also enables our company to create additional opportunities for current and future Independent Consultants, who are the backbone of Ambit’s success.”
Founded in 2006 by Thompson and Chris Chambless, Ambit provides electricity and natural gas services in deregulated markets in 16 states and Washington D.C., primarily using a direct sales channel of more than 400,000 Independent Consultants. Ambit, headquartered in Dallas, first entered the state servicing the AEP Ohio area in the fall of 2015. The company has more than 1.3 million customers nationwide and recorded revenue of $1.37 billion in 2015.
